The Best of Bali. My fav Hotels and Resorts.

One of my besties rang me the other day and said, “Reb, I know this is very last minute but we are wanting to go to Bali and I knew you were my gal!”

The first hotel she asked me about was not going to be ideal, so I was so happy she thought to ring me before she booked. Holidays are so enjoyable but there’s nothing worse than a bad holiday. It’s a bit like a bad massage. It can be worse then not having one at all!

So, I felt it my duty to share what I know.

The time of year plays a big role in deciding which side of the island of Bali to holiday on. I don’t think there’s ever really a bad time to go. I’ve been there in the rainy season and it didn’t bother me at all. From the months of June to September it is really windy on the Southern and South/East side which means Nusa Dua. I must point out that my husband is an avid surfer and staying on the windy side of the Island is like me going for a shopping spree but not having any money!! Get what I mean? So close but yet so far!! Lol!!

My holidays tend to fall into three categories. Holidays with my husband, family holidays and if I’m lucky… a little getaway with my girl gang. Either way, I like to enjoy the break and really indulge. With the exception of an “experience holiday”, by this I mean going to an ashram or seeing the mountain gorillas, I don’t see the point in going on a holiday but longing for all the beautiful comforts of home. Am I a Princess? Well let’s just say I have an appreciation for quality.

So what are my favourites? Whilst I’m sure there are many other great hotels, these are my personal favourites that I can vouch for.

The Legian, Seminyak

The W, Seminyak

The Four Seasons, Jimbaran Bay

Ayana Resort and Spa, Jimbaran Bay

Last but not least… St Regis Nusa Dua.

Have a look at my video from our 2 bedroom villa at The St Regis Nusa Dua.

Please note, I am not trying to win an Oscar for cinematography!

We really love The Legian in particular. I have spent time with my husband, my besties and our children there. It isn’t ideal for the children but they are certainly accomodating.

The wonderful team at The St Regis Nusa Dua arranged everything we could possibly need to accomodate our 10 month old. A play pen, a proper cot with mosquito net and all items for feeding. There is a small guest wing off the kitchen, complete with bed and bathroom that they allocate for guests travelling with a nanny. A 24 hour Butler is provided who was outstanding.
